How to Feel Safe Workshop

“The antidote to anxiety is not calm, it is safety.”

We live in a world that is not always safe. Systems of oppression, colonization, white supremacy, and everyday violence shape our lives and nervous systems. For many of us, especially those in marginalized bodies, external safety isn’t always accessible. That’s the reality.

This workshop is about learning how to create safety within yourself—so that even when the world doesn’t feel safe, you can still find an anchor, a resource, and a way to move through life grounded enough to keep going. Safety in the body doesn’t erase harm, but it gives us tools to meet the world as it is without losing ourselves in the process.

When we build nervous system regulation, we gain the ability to show up as our authentic selves, tend to our relationships with presence, and navigate the world with more resilience. Healing requires us to acknowledge not just personal experiences of stress and trauma, but also the collective weight of oppression and the ways it lives in our bodies. This work is intersectional—it recognizes that race, gender, sexuality, class, and disability all impact how safety is accessed and embodied.

This 90-minute workshop is an introduction to cultivating embodied safety. We’ll use somatic practices to:

  • Explore the difference between true threat and perceived danger/discomfort

  • Learn practices that help us return to “safe enough” in the moment

  • Recognize how systemic oppression and white supremacy live in our nervous systems

  • Build tools for ongoing regulation and resilience

  • Connect with others doing this work in community

The workshop will be held Wednesday, September 17th at 5pm PST.

Sliding scale pricing: $25, $50, or $75. Choose the tier that feels right for you in your body. If it feels safe, close your eyes, take three grounding breaths, and check in with what feels aligned for both your nervous system and your financial reality.

If you can’t make it live, please still register! The class will be recorded and sent out, and I’ll be available for questions and email support afterward.
