About Me
Hi! My name is Amrit-Sadhana and I am really glad you found your way here.
I am a certified trauma-informed nervous system coach, herbalist, and speaker. My mission is rooted in cultivating safety within the self and fostering flexibility in the nervous system, enabling my clients to embrace a life of deeper connection and regulation. Through a somatic, body lead approach, I empower others to navigate the complexities of their experiences with self-compassion and accountability.
I work through a decolonizing lens; recognizing and addressing the systemic oppressions that shape individual and collective trauma. Committed to liberation work, I advocate for dismantling oppressive structures and nurturing environments that honor diversity, equity, and inclusion.
With compassion and conviction, I inspire others to embark on their own journeys of healing and self-discovery, guiding them towards a future defined by authenticity, joy, community and liberation.
I came to this path through my own healing and trauma recovery journey. My desire for supporting others in this work comes from a place of deep understanding that when you are “in it” you can feel alone and broken. Learning how to receive support and resources (and how to help yourself) will transform how you approach your journey. Giving you guidance to navigate through it and cultivate a stronger and more trusting relationship to your body and its queues. We are not taught to listen to our bodies, but when we are anxious or depressed, it is our body trying to communicate to us that it needs something. When you learn how to listen. When you learn to approach life from a body-led place, your relationship with everything changes. I would love to teach you how to do that!
Lineage Statement
I practice on the lands of many tribal communities, including the Clackamas, Stl’pulmsh (Cowlitz), Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, and the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla peoples—lands now known as Portland, Oregon.
I am rooted in my ancestral lineage as a descendant of the Celtic diaspora and Portugal. My work is deeply informed by liberation, equity, and cultural awareness, guided by the teachings of Dr. Resmaa Menakem, bell hooks, Toni Morrison, James Baldwin and many other leaders in healing, decolonizing and liberation movement. Black and Indigenous women have profoundly shaped my understanding of how colonization and racism imprint upon the nervous system and influence how we move through the world.
I honor and engage with Indigenous somatic practices that have long been stripped of their cultural significance for the benefit of others. I am committed to continuously unpacking the whiteness embedded in my nervous system and embracing healing through embodied, collective liberation.
